Opening
a new file

This
is easy. Click on File >> Then New
Choose
the size of your file

Set
the size of your new file to be 7.5 x 10 inches. Set
the resolution to 200 (or higher). Choose white as
your background (or you can choose an off-white color).
Select
the width and height of your file. You can choose
inches or pixels. For print graphics it is sometimes
easier to work with inches.
Select
the resolution. For print graphics, the higher the
resolution the better the quality (and the larger
the file). A resolution of 200 is good for print graphics.
A resolution of 72 is good for web graphics.
200
resolution is the same as 200 dpi (dots per inch)
View
Grid

You
will want to use a grid to space your lines evenly.
To view the grid select view. Then show>>grid.
Adjust
the size of your grid

Adjust
the size of your grid. Select Edit>>Preferences>>Guides,
Grids, & Slices

Set
the size of your grid. We set our pixels to 50 and
subdivisions to 1.
