Adding
text to your page

You
can add text directly to your page by clicking on
the type tool and typing directly on your layout.
Select your color by selecting a foreground color,
select your font and font size. Then once you have
your typed out your text it will become its own layer.
Add a stroke around your text layer. You can then
rotate the text to any position you would like. (see
step below)
Tip:
To make your text look clearer and easer to work with
open up a new file. Make the file large and resolution
200. Type your text in your new file. Add your stroke.
Then copy and paste your text (make sure to use copy
merged) into your layout. Then scale down (see below)
your text layer. The drawback from doing it this way
is that you can not edit your text. It will become
like a photo or element.
Add
your photos to your layout
- To
add your photos to your graphic choose the select
menu. Then click on All. Once you select all you
can copy your photo into your layout.
- Choose
the Edit menu. Select copy merged.
(If you do not choose merged your stroke will not
be copied)
- Once
you have your photo copied, open the background
file you minimized earlier. Paste your photo into
your background.
(Your pasted photo will automatically become
a new layer)
- Add
a new stroke around your photo. You will do this
the same way as you did the other stroke. Select
Layer, then layer style, then Stroke. Adjust the
pixel size, color, and select position inside.
(There is more than one way to do this but this
is the easiest for beginners)
Scale
down your photos

To
ensure the best quality add your photo to your Easter
template at full size and then scale it down. When
you add the photo it may take up the entire screen
or more depending on the size of your photo. Use the
scale option to scale it down.

Change
the percentage of the width and height. You can change
this a little at a time until you get your photo sized
the way that you want it.
Rotate
and move your photos and elements

Use
the edit menu. Then Transform. Then Rotate. Use your
mouse to move the photo or element to the position
you want.
Adding
your elements (the pink bunny and the butterfly)

Open
your pink bunny psd file. Click on the Select menu
at the top, then all. You can drag the object into
your canvas with your mouse or you can use the Edit
menu and choose copy. Once you have pasted your elements,
scale them down, then rotate them to the position
you want them in. Do this with all of your elements.
Notice
the second buttefly is turned the opposite direction
on our template. You can use the flip horizontal or
flip vertical to change the position of your graphic.
This can be a great tool for positioning two photos
together. For example, turning one hand the opposite
direction so that it looks like a set of hands.
Tip:
Instead of copying and pasting the buttefly twice
use the alt key on your keyboard. If you click on
your layer while holding down the alt key it makes
a copy. This is really handy when you want to make
a lot of layers of the same element.
Now
you have your file completed. All you have left to
do is save
it and print it. Save it as a psd file
first. You should always save your work in a psd format
so you can edit it if you need to. Then choose the
file format that is best for your printer and save
it in that format. Then print and trim the edges!
