Placemat Purse

Supplies needed to make this craft:

  • pre-made quilted placemat
  • needle and thread
  • flower beads
  • seed beads(matches placemat)
  • 2 yards of 3/8" cord
  • (2inches) hook and loop tape

1-Turn placemat right sides together. Sew a 1/4" seam allowance all the way down. Do this on the opposite side.

2- If you want a flat bottom, flatten and measure 1 and 1/2 inches and sew.This will look like a triangle. Do this on the other side as well .

3- Take the cord and fold in half. Sew each end into the side seams on both sides.

4- Turn purse inside out.

5- If you want to add beads to you purse, here is how. Take a piece of thread. Place one seed bead on. Now take both ends of the thread and thread on the flower bead. Then add the remaining beads. Using a needle sew the beads onto the top a little loose so they have movement. Add as much or as little as you prefer.

6- Now add your hook and loop tape by sewing it to either side of the top inside of your purse.
