Early in the morning on Thursday, Thanksgiving, my grandmother, Mary Gibson, went Home to be with Jesus. She had been going downhill for the past few days and we knew the end was near. We are so thankful that we were able to celebrate her life on Thanksgiving day. We are thankful for the 89 years she had. We are thankful that she is spending eternity in Heaven and has been (more…)

I’ve always been a late bloomer, the last to come to the party. It’s true now, as it was at 13.
Remember being 13? All giggly and blush-y and boys (!), with a little bit of Barbie thrown in for good measure. It’s such an awkward age, at least it was for me. Still a kid, with toys and pink rooms, but on the verge of ‘growing up’ and beginning to think that maybe your parents don’t know everything.
I was the last of my girl-friends to come the conclusion that (more…)
Yeah, so not sure what the deal is but the kids didn’t nap on Friday (the day after a loaded day w/ family & friends) & then 2 of them (Gabi & Ian) didn’t nap today. It wouldn’t be an issue if they would just hang out & play but, NOOOOOO. They have to be w/ Mommy. Mommy had a lot to do today. Too much to do today. So, needless to say, not much got done.
But as it were, Gabi accepted Daddy as a substitute, only until Mommy got in her line of sight & then it was a no go. (more…)
The next two weeks at work, I actually have PART TIME HOURS! I was supposed to be part time from the beginning but after a co-worker getting sick 2 months ago and still not working, I have been doing 40 – 45 hours a week, sometimes 48! Not great timing because we could use the extra money around the holidays, but hey, beggers can’t be choosers.
This is a short blog, because I just wanted to share my joy with everyone. But now I have the time to blog and (more…)
I noticed on Friday, while at our local mall, that Santa was due to arrive on Saturday at 1pm. I decided it’d be something fun for Gaby, so naturally I told her about it, and she WAS excited. I couldn’t wait! She spent the rest of Friday – and Saturday morning, telling anyone who would listen “I’m seeing Santa at the Palms”, “Santa is coming tomorrow/today”, “I love Santa” – she even spent 10 minutes, explaining to Fluffy, that she (ie the cat) had to be a good girl, or she couldn’t go to visit Santa at the Palms, it was about as adorable as it gets!
Saturday, midday – we arrive at the mall. We line up in the line to see Santa – and are THIRD from the front. An hour after we lined up, we finally had word that Santa was on his way – that he was outside the mall, getting out of his (more…)
I’d planned all week on putting together a massive thankful post. I was going to have a billion points – or at least, one for nearly every day this month from a challenge to post one thing a day I was thankful for. I was going to post pictures, lots and lots of pictures.
None of it happened, and now here I am on my work laptop in my inlaws’ house without photos or the time to craft an epic post.
I feel like summing it all up by simply saying I am thankful for so, so much. For my family, for my friends, for (more…)
… or any velcro tabs for that matter! Most cloth diaper users encounter problems with their velcro tabs. They can lose stickiness, curl, and gather lots of fluff over the months and years of washing. When I first started using and washing my Bum Genius 3.0’s I carefully pulled any stray hairs out that I saw. That was when my baby slept the majority of the day. Now I hardly have time to stuff and put away my diapers. Sometimes they lay in a pile and I pick the pieces up for each change.
I first heard about using a snappi to clean velcro (more…)
Yep, this is the exception to the rule. I know. Not suppose to talk about my business on here but I HAVE to share these really cute turkey shirts that we made for Thanksgiving Day. Too bad it is too late to order one now BUT we are going to have some killer Christmas shirt designs instead so keep a lookout on my other blog SIGnature Creations. These are the 3 shirts together for the kids.
