I am tempted to visit e-bay and see how much I can get for my 3 year old. Well not really but man is she giving me a run for my money these days. I swear the tantrums have started up again and much worse, except now she talks back and is down right MEAN! She gives me the evil eyes, the same ones I give her when she is doing something she shouldn’t, and she tells me to “stop it” or “shut your mouth” 100 times a day.
She also seems to be acting out a lot more, writing on the walls, hiding markers in the couches, WITHOUT the caps on. She also learned how to open the fridge by herself, which has started a whole entire new nightmare, especially when I get out of the shower and notice 3 apples on the coffee table, all with ONE bite mark in each. Come on! She is also hungry ALL the time. If she sees me heading towards the kitchen she is screaming “IM HUNGRY!” before I even step foot in there. I don’t mind feeding her of course but if I even think about grabbing something quick to eat for myself, she is standing there expecting me to cook a full course meal.
4 is better right? That is what I keep telling myself but I swear, the closer to 4 we get, the more complicated things become!

I would watch her for early signs of ADHD. She sounds a lot like my middle daughter. Her impulsive behaviour started really showing around that age, and I hate to say it, but the violence started at 4. Maybe read up on how to deal with a spirited child, and it may help give you some techniques that could help. The food especially rang true with my daughter - if anyone was eating she had to have some too.
Anyways, she is far to young to be diagnosed with anything - but the knowledge behind it could really help to deal with her behaviours!!
Good luck!! I feel your pain!
I know things will get better. I have two older boys that are living proof that they do. But I am right there with you on the selling of three year olds! My son is going through a marker phase as well, and when he gets mad and gives me the evil eye it is usually followed by “GO AWAY MOMMY!”. I also get to clean up cracked eggs alot because that is what he gets in the fridge for, to crack eggs. ( fridge locks dont work either.) The only things that saves my lovely little man is his amazing amount of charm, if he knows he is in trouble he will say mommy I love your hair! I just remind myself there are many stages in childhood and not all of them are this hard. Being the mommy to a three year old is a tough job, we should all get some sort of medal!
