Early in the morning on Thursday, Thanksgiving, my grandmother, Mary Gibson, went Home to be with Jesus. She had been going downhill for the past few days and we knew the end was near. We are so thankful that we were able to celebrate her life on Thanksgiving day. We are thankful for the 89 years she had. We are thankful that she is spending eternity in Heaven and has been reunited with her parents and siblings who believed already. I know that my mom, although sad to not have her mom any longer, is relieved that she is no longer suffering and is no longer bed-ridden, unable to talk, unable to eat, unable to do anything for herself.
We are heading to North Carolina on Sunday to have a small grave-side service for her on Monday. We will travel, not with heavy hearts, but with the knowledge that we will all one day see her again. I love you Grandma and I promise that Daniel will know you! Mary Adeline Sampson Gibson March 20, 1920 – November 26, 2009.
