I went in for my ultrasound this morning.  My lining looked good.  YAH!  So we are on for December.  I asked the nurse about my hubby’s semen analysis.  I think I forgot to blog about it but they gave the results to him and ding dong didn’t write anything down.  I asked him what the results were and he was utterly useless.  So today I talked to the nurse about it and I guess his stuff ain’t what it used to be.  He did say that she told him this was a little low and this was a little low and that was a little low but he also said we could do everything as planned.  I thought that meant as planned without ICSI.  I even asked him if she said we needed to do ICSI and he said she said something about ICSI but that she said we could do everything as planned.  Great explanation, hubby!

My paperwork did say unexplained infertility but now it says tubal factor and male infertility.  I remember when we went to the first consult I kept insisting to the doctor that I did not think Kelly was the problem since we have been pregnant plenty of times but obviously I wasn’t totally right on that.  I am kind of disappointed about this but at least I know what the problem is now.  This really helps explain to me why we haven’t been able to get pregnant.  With me being a one tube wonder and dh not being totally up to snuff anymore (sorry hubby but it feels good to not be the only one with problems – sort of).

In case you don’t know what ICSI is it is basically when they help put the sperm in the egg.  Normally during IVF they put your egg and sperm in a petri dish and let them do their magic, but when you have sperm issues they help the little buggers out a little.  (If I haven’t explained that totally right, one of you IVF pros feel free to correct me.)  So that is what we will be doing provided everything goes according to plan.

I start the injections on Saturday.  I take 300 iu of Gonal F on Saturday and Sunday and then go in on Monday for another ultrasound and bloodwork.  I am praying that everything goes well.  Keep sending the moo dust would you please?
