In our typical last-minute fashion, we found ourselves in the 11th hour trying to round up a birthday present for one of Eliza’s friends. With less than an hour before party time, I was suddenly inspired.

lisa_schroeder just debuted her latest book, “It’s Raining Cupcakes”. Perfect!
I ran into Barnes & Noble and as I asked the employee where I could find the book, another customer held out her copy and said, “Oooh, it’s right here! I just picked it up.” Sweet coincidence, no?
With minutes to spare, I crossed the parking lot to Target and raided their dollar spot right before heading to the Easter aisle.
15 minutes later……TA-DAHHHHH! A most delicious gift for the birthday girl.
Included in the bright pink bowl: A copy of Lisa’s book, Spring cupcake mix, butterfly cupcake liners, pink frosting, flowery sprinkles, colorful measuring spoons and can you see the tissue paper?? It has sprinkles! How awesome is that?
(Eliza was also directed to name-drop since she and I both got to hang out with Lisa for an afternoon last summer.)
The icing on the cupcake is that when Eliza walked into the party, another party-goer exclaimed excitedly, “Hey! I just bought that book!”
Eliza and I will be enjoying our copy this weekend. You should too.
