Monday night was Chili Night. And Vetty & I got a little creative so I wanted to share a few pics and a review on the chili mix we used because it was sooo good. We’ve used this brand a few times because it had a coupon on it (and was on sale), so we grabbed a few boxes.
So, Chicken Chili was planned and we couldn’t find the cornbread mix. I
think my mom secretly made it one day and didn’t tell us, haha. So we
had to come up with another “bread dipping” method or recipe. This is
what we came up with and it went great!
So the Chilii mix we used was - Carroll Shelby’s Chili Kit! You can fix it hot or milk! It comes with all the spices, flour, peppers and jalapeno and the chili powder (you can add as much or as little as you’d like) to fix it as you’d like.
The first time we bought it it was regular price, right under $2 and it had a coupon for $2 off of chicken! So we grabbed 2 boxes. Then a few weeks or a month later it was on clearance for $.75!! I grabbed like 4 boxes!
If you can see in the last pic… Vetty made a little ladder! The girls loved it.
I put about 1/4 of the chili powder but it didn’t even tickle my tongue. It’s super easy to make. Just brown the chicken. Add the spices and water, simmer for 15 minutes covered. Take off the cover and simmer another 5 minutes and then add your extras. We added a can of corn, stewed tomatoes, and a can of chili beans. Simmer another 10 minutes and it’s ready!
