Food Fun Friday: Cinnamon Toast Crunch Treats


If you are looking for a quick no-bake dessert or treat, you’ve come to the right place. I know this is quick because I prepared it in 15 minutes. Faithful readers know that my family is currently residing in temporary housing while we wait for our home to close. We didn’t take a lot with us to the new place, so creating something to share with you all was a bit of a challenge. When I opened up the cabinets, I noticed I had brought marshmallows here for some reason. Very odd, but I started to get an idea. We did not have Rice Krispies, but we did have Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Hmmm…
You will need:

  • Marshmallows
  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal
  • Butter
  • Pan


I just eye balled this whole recipe. If you have made Rice Krispie treats in the past, then you know what consistency you will need. I melted 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat.

Then I added 3/4 of a bag of marshmallows while I stirred continually over very low heat. You can also take the pan off the heat, since if you are not strict about constant stirring, the marshmallows could burn. I just found that they melted better under low heat.


Next, add your Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I just poured it straight out of the box and kept adding until it was coated and the consistency looked like what you’d see on Rice Krispie treats. Forgive me for the lack of measurements, but we don’t have things to measure with here.

Pour the mixture into a greased pan and pat down with a spoon. Allow the mixture to cool and the marshmallow to get firm. Then cut into squares and serve.


I would suggest serving these with baby wipes since fingers will get sticky.
The cinnamon and sugar add a nice flavor to the marshmallow. Feel free to experiment with different cereals as well. I mean what can go wrong when you add butter and marshmallows to something?
