I was never into math as a kid. In fact, if you told me when I was younger that there were fun math games out there, I wouldn’t have believed you. Now that I am a mom, one of my goals if for my kids not to struggle the way I did. I think all moms can relate. So I try and create some fun math games that will be so engaging that the kids won’t know they’re learning. Sneaky huh?

1.5 lbs of elbow macaroni (or any pasta of your choosing)
1 cup of asiago cheese, shredded
1 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons of cream cheese
½ stick of butter
3 tablespoons of flour
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
Salt & pepper to taste
3 cups of milk

“So, Mom, while you were gone me and Dad watched Lord of the Rings on TV. It was super cool.”
“I saw it once but I don’t really remember what it’s all about.”
“It’s about these little guys who have breakfast and then after that they have second-breakfast.”

“No they have lunch, second-lunch, dinner, and second-dinner too.”
As you know, I am slightly obsessed with Breast Feeding since I had such a hard time with Baby Bear and didn’t get enough milk.
I prayed that I would not have the same issue with Mini, so we monitored it very closely with weight checks every few days in the first few weeks. The verdict was in that I have Insufficient Glandular Tissue sometimes called IBT also. You can read about it here. I can produce some milk, but not enough for Mini to thrive on so I have to supplement. Mini has horrible gas and bloating plus always sounded congested so I tried several types of formula on her and nothing really helped.
What if I could just give her breast milk though?
So I am not into actually having someone physically nurse my baby (besides me) I just needed some milk.

I feel like I passed a secret test today. I took my 2 little Bears with me out of the house alone. Baby Bear needed to use the potty and Mini Bear needed a diaper change. I helped Baby Bear onto the potty with one hand and held Mini with the other. It seemed like I was on autopilot and I was Super Mom not even thinking of how I was going to do everything at once.

I have, for years, eaten terrible refried beans from a can. I had no idea how little it takes to transform an ordinary (and honestly awful) can of refried beans into a wonderful side for your Mexican food that tastes as good as your favorite restaurant.
Ingredients
*1 can refried beans
*grease from 4 slices of cooked bacon (not healthy, I know- but amazing!)
*1 1/2 tsp chili powder
*1 Tb onion salt
*1/2 Tb cumin
“… so that’s a grande soy latte? And your name?”
“Page.”
“Thanks, Page. Here’s your change.”
“Mom, your name’s not Page.”
“Yes it is.”
“Your name’s Lisa.”
