GeriGeri married her husband, Tony, in August 2007. About a year after, they started trying to have a baby. After some infertility testing, they found out that Tony has a genetic condition that would make having children difficult. Even if they did try IVF, the genetic condition resides on the Y chromosome and would be passed down to any male offspring.

Deciding that it was much more important to become parents than to become pregnant, Geri and Tony decided to make an adoption plan. They are anxiously awaiting a match for a domestic infant so they can begin building their family!

Family

It’s taken 10 years for me to fully realize what adoption is. Most of us are touched by it every day, just not in the most conventional way. We are all adopted in one way or another. I have been blessed to have been adopted into my husband’s family. Our relationship started out rocky. But…

Cat Food

I realize it’s been a while. And as you can tell by the title, this does not seem adoption related, but with one line at the end, I will bring it all together… watch. 😉 I just spent 45 minutes at PetSmart. First, I realized the company that made my cat’s food changed the formulas…

I am fortunate enough to work for two amazing chiropractors, Dr. Dawn Cadwallader and Dr. Rob Cadwallader. They came into my life by way of a friend, Jess. Jess and I went to high school together. Jess and I didn’t like each other very much…well, at all… in high school. There was a boy involved,…

“Hey! Guess What!?”

As an “about-to-be” adoptive mother, I have worked through the grief. I have grieved for my unborn child and have peace with the fact that I will never be pregnant. I am truly OK with that. But no one and nothing can prepare you for the sting that inevitably comes every time you hear the…
