Perfect Timing for Pictures

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010 by by

I think one of my favorite options on my new phone is the quality camera I have on there. It is the best camera I’ve had on a phone. Now, it ain’t like my Nikon D3000 but hey, I’m not complaining because the pictures still come out great.

The reason this is important to me know as opposed to before is because I have 3 beautiful children that do silly things & sometimes lugging around my big ol’ Nikon isn’t an option. I can capture that all too sweet moment and not worry about losing it forever.

These are a few pics I snapped with the phone when we were outside playing. I could have brought the Nikon out but didn’t feel like it. Still, I am happy with the pictures I was able to get.

Wherefore art thou Facebook?

Monday, July 5th, 2010 by by

Ah, on my BlackBerry! Can I just tell you how much I HEART my Facebook app on my phone? I’m hooked. I’m a Facebook junkie anyway. Let me clarify. I don’t play those silly games on there but I love reconnecting to old friends and my family across the world. Chatting with my cousins in Argentina is the best!

It also keeps me updated with my triplet mommy friends from all over the world. You know, we feel like a special group and finding other moms like us nearby is sometimes a challenge but Facebook makes it possible for us to chat, message one another, compare stories, pictures…you name it!

Because Facebook is my social network here at home, having the app on my phone makes it that much sweeter. I think my favorite part of the app is how easy it is to upload pics to my wall. Let’s be real, it isn’t always very convenient to lug around my Nikon D3000. It’s huge BUT my phone isn’t and that baby goes with me EVERYWHERE. I can snap a picture on the go and upload it immediately. Love, love, love it!

And posting status updates for the heck of it while (more…)

My Map App

Thursday, July 1st, 2010 by by

Hmmmm, I thought it was cool to use Mapquest on the internet to get from point A to point B. Well, I figured out how to use my Map App (tee-hee…that sounds funny) and I gotta say, it rocks! It really wasn’t that difficult to figure out, once I had some time to sit down and check it out.

Ah, the eluded time factor. You know, having triplets and a little business can really put a dent in to time. I have a feeling even more of it is going to disappear as both sets of grandparents will be gone for the next month!

BUT, like I was saying, the Map App is awesome. It was really cool to use. As always, I like to plan ahead. This meant sitting down and putting in the address of my friend’s home, Susan, in to my phone the night before we were going over there. She has triplets 6.5 months younger than the kids. It was the first time I would be going to see her new house.

There are a couple of neat features that (more…)

High Tech Date

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010 by by

Up until now, I haven’t had the ability to do anything with my phone except call someone. No fancy shmancy stuff. Just plain and boring. Well, I decided to bring along the fancy phone when Todd and I went to go see Cirque de Soleil on Saturday, a big birthday date. I thought it would be fun to chrono the date as we went along and it gave me the chance to play with some apps I hadn’t familiarized myself with.

First stop was dinner at a fancy restaurant. I decided it was important to snap a picture of both Todd and I, unfortunately, not together. Funny thing is that Todd only pulled out his phone when I pulled out mine. Don’t worry, he put it back up after I took pics.

Here I am, trying to (more…)

Mapping my way around with my Blackberry!

Monday, June 28th, 2010 by by

Life has been super hectic but somehow we managed to find time to visit my friend, Andrea, who happens to live about 45 minutes away. It was the first time to bring the kids over there. And actually, the last time I was there was about 5 years ago. That’s a long time, long enough to not remember how to get there.

What does that mean? A reason to use the Blackberry’s map thingy…app. I typed in Andrea’s address & waa-laa! The map showed up. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to figure out all the bells and whistles that go along with it so I went to something more familiar.

Mapquest.

On my browser. Because I have a BlackBerry. And because I have a BlackBerry, I have internet capabilities. WOOT-WOOT! You know what that means?

I Heart My BlackBerry Apps:

Thursday, June 24th, 2010 by by

The truth is I haven’t had a chance to really get to know my Blackberry like I would have wanted to in the 5 days I have had it. There was a time I use to sit down for a few hours upon receiving my new phone and play with it. Testing what it had and what it didn’t. What I wished for and those hidden treasures.

Well, the life of a triplet mom is admittedly busy. Very busy. Pile on top of that, a small BOOMING business, and I just don’t have the free time like I use to. BUT, that hasn’t stopped me (more…)

A Blackberry of a Trip

Monday, June 21st, 2010 by by

I was totally stoked to get the new phone. There was a bit of a mix up when I received my phone so I ended up taking it to Best Buy to exchange it. When Todd got home, I took off to the Best Buy. I got to the Best Buy and the customer service was great! They were totally interested in how I got the phone and my blog. They were also very good about making the exchange work even though we ran in to a kink or 2. Luckily, they all had a good sense of humor. Of course, I had to get a gel thing case-a-mu-bobber to protect the darn thing. It’s burnt orange, GOOOOOOOO LONGHORNS! I thought it was perfect timing, we were going out-of-town for a wedding and I was going to “get to know my phone” during the drive. Again, that luck thing. My internet stuff didn’t work. The texting, FABULOUS! I love having a full keyboard. The keys are a bit small and I’m still getting use to it but I still have some major love for my new Blackberry when it comes to texting. Oh, and the camera…I gotta say I like it. Way better than my old phone because you can actually tell what the picture is. HECK YEAH! I even got an app that is for Photobucket so I can upload directly my account when I take a picture I actually like! What is left to discover? The internet capabilities. I’ll be working on it. Playing with it. Texting some more and taking pics of my adorable kids and posting them on Facebook. I’ve got a free 30 day trial for unlimited internet through T-Mobile and because the Blackberry is equipped to use wi-fi (how cool is that?!?!), if I choose not to continue with the internet services via T-Mobile, I’ll still be able to use my Blackberry anywhere wi-fi is offered. Since I am home much of the day, this is a cool option to have! Let’s see what the future brings! I am liking my new Blackberry and hoping we get to know one another better in the coming days and weeks.

I got my Blackberry Today!

Saturday, June 12th, 2010 by by

I got it today, a Blackberry 8520. Yeah, not the top of the line Blackberry BUT I don’t know that I would really want anything more than this with three 2 year olds under foot. I am already excited about the prospects of the new phone. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t wait to get home to turn it on.

So, while I was stuck in stand still traffic, I put my SIM card in & the battery. The first call? To my wonderful hubby. What did he do? Played a trick on me. He pretended he couldn’t hear me. Said it was fuzzy. Yes, I fell for it. I hung up and called him again. Dumb me. Smart Todd. Smartphone…only if the person using it is too!

Tomorrow we are going on an overnight trip. I’m planning on letting Todd do all the driving which is a 1st. Yep, I’m the controlling type. Gotta be the one driving. But, I’m going to forgo the honors and play with my new phone. I’m excited! New ringtone, here I come!
