Happy Father’s Day & Happy Birthday Daddy!

Saturday, June 25th, 2011 by by

We had a 1-2 combo this week! Sunday was Father’s Day. Today is my beloved’s birthday.

It all started with breakfast in bed. I made sausage gravy with biscuits, scrambled eggs, & sausage on the side.

To boot, a brand new Starbucks coffee mug, because those are the bomb diggity, filled with a cafe mocha, no fat, no whip. That’s how we roll in this here house! He even shared his specialness with the kids. They ate breakfast with Daddy in the bedroom and on the bed. (more…)

“It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.” (Boy, isn’t this the truth?)
- Pope John XXIII

Happy Father’s Day to a guy who definitely keeps it real.  We all love you SO much.

On a budget?  Don’t know what the kids should give their dad for Father’s Day?  I’ve got an idea for you!  Let the kids paint him a Tie T-shirt.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A solid color t-shirt
  • Freezer paper (you can find this at the grocery store)
  • Acrylic craft paint
  • Fabric medium (this will be at a craft store near the craft paints)
  • Paint brush(es) – I like the cheap foam ones

This is a tough day. As much as I love my husband and think that he’s a wonderful father, I miss my dad. This was made for me by a friend after my Dad passed and I just wanted to share

We LOVE our Daddy!

Todd is the most wonderful father known to man. Seeing him be silly with the kids and enjoying them is priceless. Today was all about him. It was fun signing the card and even better, bringing Daddy his presents. Everyone got a special breakfast by Mommy. Daddy even got to take TWO naps today!

The kids all ready to walk in to give Daddy his gifts.

For the Cloth Diapering Dads!

Can change a diaper, even cloth, in under 2 minutes!

Loves the velcro diapers, but doesn’t complain about snaps!

Often forgets to attach the laundry tabs.

Takes all the “easy” diapers first.

Hopes it isn’t a poopy diaper…..

Doesn’t have to take out bags full of stinking disposables to the curb.

Instinctually removes inserts from pockets before (more…)

To My Dad

“Big Mouth Rude Dude Stinky Improper Papa Person”

It took you years to earn that title, and you earned every last bit of it… every last bit!  I’ll always look up to you (and not just because you’re 6’4″).  You taught me to follow my heart and seek to find what I am passionate about.  And you may have gotten wiser as you’ve gotten older, but you are still young at heart.  I like that.  I wish I could be camping with you and Kelly this weekend, but I’m there in spirit!  Happy Father’s Day, Dad!  I love you so much!

He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.
There is a lot to be said for being a great dad.  But sometimes more is said in a smile, a giggle or a song.  There are a lot of those to be found in our home.  And much of that is in thanks to you, the patient, loving father to our children.  It’s so nice to have you all to ourselves for a long while!  Happy Father’s Day from me and the kiddos!
