Backyard summer fun

Thursday, July 7th, 2011 by by MommaTrish

OK, this is the post I said I was going to put up Monday but never got around to. lol Friday after work, John got an inflatable pool for our backyard. It was a surprise to all of us, since he hadn’t mentioned this to anyone. The boys and Belly went out and got in it Saturday and Sunday. They all loved it. By Sunday, even Belly was really playing it it, splashing and getting all of her wet. The downside was that it was so hot, like arm pits sweating even though you’re sitting in really cold water hot. John ended up getting the sprinkler and angling it so that it would spray over the pool and cool the top of them off also.

As always, I have a gazillion pictures to show off from them in the pool Saturday, but I am going to try to greatly narrow it down for you.

Bustin’ out the pool!

I got this cute dragon pool on clearance at the end of last summer. It was about $10 at Target. I feel better about spending that much, because destruction is inevitable with triplets. The only thing that I don’t like is the slide, because it won’t say down. I get it. Full of air. Floats on water. Not a good combo. Any time they wanted to go down the slide, they needed help from someone.

Taylor & Monty stopped by so Taylor got to do the honors. The kids had fun. BUT, somewhere along the way, we picked up a rash. AND…our 1st summer cold. Poop.

I don’t think I’ve seen our trio run so fast!

Daddy was cheering them on. It was full steam ahead! (more…)

Hello Sunshine! or A Gentle Approach to Pools

Finally, summer is here in Northwest Ohio! After being thoroughly jealous of everyone else’s warm and sunny weather, we finally got our turn. For one day, anyway. Yes, sandwiched between the cool, rainy, gloomy 50 F weather, we had one sunny day this week that was 75 F! On days like this, a very dear friend comes out to play. I’d like to introduce you to Max:I bought Max last week, on sale at Target. I had originally wanted to get a water table. I had used them at the day care that I worked at, and then saw that Target carried them. I didn’t buy it right away of course; I had to sleep on it before purchasing. Well, it turns out that they are very popular around here. Every Target in the Toledo area is sold out of them! The reason that I was more keen on the idea of the water table rather than the pool, is because this is how Jonah feels about being in water:I decided to turn of the spout squirting (more…)
