I hear Zofran really is a miracle drug. Doctors give it to cancer patients to help with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. It's pretty popular among pregnant women as well. I'm glad it worked so well for you!

I was on this when I was pregnant cause I had really bad morning sickness. He couldn't give me phen. cause I work and it always makes me sleep..
Zofran was a mircle! Since I started taking that, I didn't get morning sickness that bad.. But I did have morning sickness through out my whole pregnancy. |

Zofran is the strongest thing out there to give to a pregnant women. It has been my miracle drug and why I am still alive today! They come in 4mg ,8 mg and a dissolving tablet. I am still taking the 8 mg (the strongest) and I am 8 months preggo! I think I will be taking it until I give birth. My doctor has tried getting me off it a couple of times but I immediately have to get on it again.
When I was super sick 3-6 months, Zofran wasn't really working, (I had to get it through IV's too!) But now it does the trick! It is WAY expensive-$1600 for 20 tablets which will only last you a week, or $800 for the generic-Ondanestron. You HAVE to have insurance to get on it and the worst side-effect (which to me is way worth it) is constipation! |

I took Phenergen off and on through this pregnancy, it did make me very sleepy so I would try to just take a half tab. Zofran is a miracle drug! I don't think they will try to precribe it unless the cheaper meds arent' working because a lot of insurances don't like to cover it. They give it to kids undergoing chemo treatments and it really makes a huge difference.
I found I needed antiemetics very badly from about week 9-13 and now I am 39 weeks and have needed it again for the past week or so. i'm not sure if there's a connection between having nausea early in pregnancy and getting it again at the end. |
