Little Joe seems to get the hiccups at least every other day or so. Is that a sign of anything I should be aware of (colic, etc?)

I think it's ADORABLE, but just want to make sure it's ok.

Thanks girls,
Sarah

Dora (due 4/14) gets them almost like clockwork 3x per day, for the past month, maybe a bit longer. She gets them when I wake up, again mid-afternoon, and around 9pm. They last about 10 minutes or so.

It's a good sign of lung development, and very much normal, no worries momma! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It is cute, although I feel bad for her if they continue too long.

Hugs-

Amy

Thanks for the info..good to hear it's a sign of good lung development.

LOL..I feel bad for him sometimes, too. I know I hate the hiccups. Poor little fella...plus, he's in a pool of water! Imagine being under water with the hiccups??????

Happy Easter and thanks again. I feel better!

Good luck!

I swear it never fails...I eat a meal, and Nora gets the hiccups. It's too funny :)

Dylan gets them on occasion too. Only a handful of times thus far. It is cute. Ryan NEVER had them in utero. I nevr knew that about lung development- that is nice to know! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Crista got them, but not nearly as often as this baby! Every time I eat, she gets them. And if I'm sitting for a while and get up quick to get something or do something, she gets them. If Crista is playing and accidentally bumps my belly, she gets them.

I also feel bad for her when she gets them because they annoy ME (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I used to think it was cute but she gets them so much and that repetative bumping is just so annoying to me. The only consolation is that its supposed to mean her lungs are good.

Hopping over here from the June DDC. There was a post about this recently and apparently hiccups dont bother baby in eutro at all. They said even newborns dont even care if they have hicups. So stop feelin bad :)

That's true, Missy. I talked to my doctor about my son having the hiccups in utero and he said that it is a good sign of lung development and it is not uncomfortable to the baby in any way. So, no need to feel bad for them. Apparently, it doesn't bother them like it would us. My baby gets the hiccups almost daily and they are really fast too.

That's funny because I think Sydney gets them when she is hungry because as soon as I eat they go away. Babies are so funny.
