Hi Ladies!!!
I have never posted in this particular board.
Just to give you a little background...
I have 2 kids (DS is 8 and DD is 5), last November I had a miscarriage. DH and I have decided recently that we do not want to try to conceive at this point.
I went to the Dr yesterday and he suggested NuvaRing. He said every patient he has prescribed it to LOVED it.
I just wanted some opinions from anyone that has used it.
Did you like/dislike it and why?
TIA!!!

I use the Nuva Ring and i love it. My periods are lighter and shorter, i only have to worry about it once a month, neitheri nor my dh can feel it ( unless you get into funky positions they arent supposed to ever feel it) its been great for us. And my face hasnt broke out near as bad bc there is such low hormones.

I use it, and I too love it. Although I'm considering trying out an IUD, I know that if that doesn't work out for me, the NR does! The only negative thing I've noticed is increased CM (sorry, maybe TMI), and that's kind of annoying. But otherwise, I love it, neither of us feel it, and I love that I can put it in and forget about it!

I love it and haven't had any problems with it! I can't feel it, neither can DF. I have shorter, lighter periods too. I don't think I will ever go back to the pill, this is SO easy.

I loved it because my face never broke out and had shorter periods but... I am now 6 months pregnant so it obviously did not work for us. My doctor said it was very rare though and that I may have just gotten a defective ring.

I'm on the nuvaring, and I can say altho it's my favorite so far, it's also my least favorite.
Research shows that it only stops ovulation in 70% or so of women. I'm one of the 30% who still ovulates. But with the changes in cervical mucous, and the uterine lining thinning, any fertilized egg cannot properly implant. I'm in my 4th month with the ring and I've already had a chemical pregnancy and a 7 week miscarriage (didn't know I was pregnant, AF came after + hpt, figured it was another chemical).
I would talk to your doctor about the chances of you not ovulating. My doctor gave me some ovulation predictors to use this month to verify, and low and behold on Day 14 I get a positive OPK.
if you're going to try it, pick up some OPK's and test your first month or so.. unless you're using condoms, then you *should* be safe.
I'm going off the ring this month. The side effects (20lbs weight gain while on a healthy food/gym diet, crankiness, longer but lighter period, I'm an absolute Bit*h most of the month, overly emotional etc..) are too much for me, so we're going to condoms and spermicide.

I hated it. DH could pull it out HIMSELF, without us being in strange positions. The first time that it happened, we found it in the bed and thought that it was a hair holder. LOL I know that's probably TMI, but we hated it. My OB suggested that we remove it before intercourse, but that got to be way too annoying for us. I tell all of my friends to consider size, shape, girth, etc (once again, probably TMI, sorry)...and talk to the DR about it before making that choice.

Hated it, DH could feel it, I could feel it now matter how far I pushed it in, and it made me bleed A LOT! Biggest complaint about it is break through bleeding from what i'm told...

Ya.. that break through bleeding for a lot of women is implantation bleeding tho.. which is why I've stopped mine.
