I got my IUD March 07. At first I checked for my strings all the time. As time went on I was checking less and less as I became less paranoid about it moving. Lately I check it about once every other month or so. Last time I checked was the end of June, well I just checked yesterday morning and I couldn't find my strings. Now in the almost year and a half that I have had it, I can't remember my cervix ever being as high, soft and open as it was this time. Could it be because my cervix is so high and I should just wait a week and check again, or should that not matter and I should go call the doc now?

I would try checking it again & if you can't feel them - go to your doctor. Can you get your SO to check for you? I know sometimes mine are really hard to feel

Could they possibly be tucked up under your cervix? If you can feel the opening of your cervix, and can't feel any strings coming out of it then you should call your Dr.
