I am re-starting the Siggy School Student Challenges (SSSC)! Since we have so many new maker's I am completely re-starting it, including winners, and would like your ideas of what YOU would like to learn in the challenges. If you aren't sure what a trick/style is called please describe it to the best of your abilities, and I'll try to figure out what you mean. Please list as many ideas as you have, because I don't know what you do/don't know how to do, and my goal of this challenge is to help you to improve. Please also list what program you use.

I don't think this goes under a siggy challenge but I have no idea how to use the "paper backgrounds" I add them and they are way to big...and I can't get them to go any smaller. (I hope you know what I mean). Can I use multiples on the one siggy? - Does this make sense?
MommaTrish
do you mean the papers that come in kits? like how to use them in making your siggies? if so then yeah that is something we can go over. if not, try explaining it to me again.
**KaLeNe**
Yep...that is exactly what I meant...thank you!

Also I have more: hehehe

* How to get the pics to fade out at the edges
* If we could go over sizing of the screens that would be great too because I get stuck sometimes.

I'll keep thinking and let you know! smile.gif
pixie_pink
I would like to learn about enhancing.

I would love to know how to make my siggies look sharper. Some of the ones on here just look so clean and bright and perfect lol it's not fair. I'mnot great at photo enhancing and such. Here's some examples...

I hope no one minds me using these.. They just stood out for me and exactly what I was trying to get across. Or does it just come with practice? LoL
MommaTrish
that's all photo editing which is one thing we will definitly cover. wink.gif

I'm new in the forum, If you can not do it, I'll understand. but I would love to know how to do stiches around text, im using psp 8 and 9. Also i want to know how to do the paper on this photo that I attached, if you look at the paper you'll see that looks broken on the edge, I'm not explaining to well...I hope you understand me.

ARL253
Trish, I wanna know how to do the rain effect!
queenrhea
I would like to know how to fade out the edges of the paper backgrounds when I add them to my creations. Like more of a softer blur, but like a frame. kwim?
MommaTrish
okay

mariposa - you either get a torn edge brush, buy a torn/curled page action or template to do that. you can look to try to get them free.
adrienne - i want to know how too! laugh.gif i might work with patty or kate on getting that lesson for y'all.
rhea - we can cover that also.

also, if you ladies want to browse the galleries for styles you'd like to learn and put the images here that would help also. wink.gif
mariposa
thanks for the tip.
dettmer26
I want to know how to do the "simple" siggy's I see and LOVE! Like queenrhea's! Thanks! I just basically need to know how to do the simple line frame, that you can break up for pics, etc....
MommaTrish
I plan on having us cover the three main types of siggies: scrap, simple, and animated. wink.gif
Like I said the whole thing is starting over, and in doing that we start with the basics of photo editing, styles, and such.
dettmer26
Well...I primarily want to know how to make those "outlines"....
Mum2Girls
I just did PS tutorial #1 today.... seems pretty easy so far.... I am new to photo shop, I have always used Corel Photo Paint.... but was told I could do more in Photo Shop... I will see if I agree as I learn how to use PS.
queenrhea
I would like to learn how to do the water ripple effect, and I would like to learn how to use the templates for frames and such. (already premade, and you just add stuff). I have a bunch, but don't know how to work them! LOL!
MommaTrish
okay, I'm going to post the first one now, BUT I will leave this thread stickied so that you ladies can continue to add requests of what you;d like to learn.
queenrhea
You're the best!
MommaTrish
first challenge is officially posted here!

I know I'm into advanced category, but I love these challenges for learning! I need to learn more animation, which I see a lot of people already mentioned. The water reflection, bugs/objects moving across the siggy but also the ones where a bug "writes" the words, KWIM? And leaves/bubbles "flying" across the siggy.

ETA: also 2 animations in 1 picture!
MommaTrish
sounds good. i'll have to talk to some of our animation queens about some of those though. but animation is what i plan to cover next week.
