I was put on this on August (Jolessa, the generic of Seasonale). I have gained about 25 lbs with this pill and had NEVER gained with any other BC before. Also i'm on the Reminder pills and have been for the past 3 days now and NO AF, still.
I am considering not getting them refilled in a few days, and instead just not being on BC....(I know. Scary though) but all I've read about the risks and longer you take them, I've been on BC of some sort for nearly 10 years, and I've already had what my doc beleives was a TIA (Mini Stroke).
I'll be 27 in a couple of days, and that is a lot to take in.

I am considering getting the Essure procedure done, I've heard and researched a lot of good things but the only thing that really scares me is that it has not been around but about 6 years. SO we do not know any long term effects on it.

Anyway, After some research I did the other day, I was suprised to learn that TYLENOL and VITAMIN C reduce the effectiveness of the pill that I am on.. I take Vitamin C daily to keep up my immune system and have taken Tylenol a good bit i the past, as since I am a migraine sufferer..
I have always known that Antibiotics would reduce the effectiveness of the pill but never heard about Tylenol and Vitamin C.. This just really surprised me.

So anyway, Is there anyone else that is on this? I have horrible period and I always have... My cramps are just not normal. They are (I swear) like Labor pains. They feel like Labor Contractions and I can not move when I am having them... It hurts so bad. So I always get a little scared when Its time for my Period because i DO NOT look forward to those pains.... Ever....

Okay, done with my rant/question post.. Thanks

I do not take the same pills as you, but I did go to my doctor and ask for that pill, seeing as only having 4 periods a year would be GREAT!!!!. But my doctor told me that I should not use them, not sure why, she didn't go into it, so she put me on Yasmin 28..now Im on the generic for it. But she said that I could just take it for 3 months in a row and then after the last pack I stop and have my period. I tried that but it made my periods HORRIBLE again!! I have ALWAYS had HORRIBLE periods like you, I curl up in a ball and can't move it feels like I was hit in the abdomen with a baseball bat. So I understand. So what I do now is I take my pills for two months and then after the second pack is done I go off it for a week and have my period. It takes about two to three days for my period to start but I have one heavy day and then the rest are very light and the cramps are sooooooo little. I don't even have to take advil or tylenol. I would suggest asking to change pills to something else...my doctor said you can do this with almost all birthcontrol pills. Anyways, ask for a different pill and see if it is ok to take them for two or three months. Its definately worth a try, waaaaaayyyy better then not taking birth control at all. That is just toooo SCARY of a thought for me!

Hope I've helped. GL...oh Im not sure what to say about gaining weight...I haven't with this pill sooo good luck. Hope to hear better news soon!!

Sometimes I get TERRIBLE migrains as well when I am on my period. Its horrible, sometimes Excedrin works and other times it doesn't. I hope it gets better for you. Im thinking about asking my doctor for some migrain meds, I have a friend who takes some and she says it works for her. I really hope you get a better birthcontrol. I would def ask your doc if you can do what I do, its GREAT!! biggrin.gif
