I downloaded the version from the link you had on GIMP and started reading the lessons but do not have the script fu option. Do I need to un-install and re-install a new version to get the tab (BTW it downloaded 2.6.2 version). I really want to learn how to do this. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

You actually have the newest version of GIMP so the script fu option must have been on the previous version. I will see if I can hunt it down later.

Okay I found the script fu tab. It is under the filters tab, all the down at the end. HTH!
