SO I went to the doctor this morning and the NP couldn't feel them or find them (and went ahead and gave me a pap which sucks cause DH and DTD like two days ago...last time that happened it came back abnormal...I told her so we shall see). Anyway, she ordered me an ultrasound. I was sure it was all lodged up in their and jacked up or something but turns out it was right in place. Strings could not be recovered. She says they sometimes fall off so whenever I do have it removed, they will have to do an ultrasound and a lil hook for removal...bleh. But what they did find were cysts all over my right ovary. She kept asking when my LMP was and I told her Dec 15th or maybe the 20th...sometime in between there. I was all WHY??! But she said the cysts on the right "indicate" that was the ovary that was going to be releasing the egg on my next ovulation day. So I leave kinda confused...she didn't see concerned or anything. She had asked if I was experiencing any discomfort and I told her about my cramps and pretty much constant back pain...Does anyone know if this is from the cysts? And if so, will they (the cramps and achiness) go away after I ovulate? I have never had a painful ovulation before. Do we always grow cysts beforehand??? I mean wtf? I am gonna go see when my O day would be if my LMP was later than the 15th. My girlfriend thinks I should take a PG in a few days...I figured if I was PG I would have found out today...but I am only like 8 days DPO. Could you see a baby in there that soon? I am sure it is all good but I still nervous.

Help!

Glad the IUD is still in good place!

About the cyst, yes you always grow a cyst when you ovulate. The cyst forms on top of the ovary with the egg inside, the egg then releases into the fallopian tube and the cyst falls apart. If thats what she thinks it is then it is completly normal. Now if the cyst dosen't fall apart and stays, or collapses in on itself then you have a problem. If she isn't concerned right now, than neither should you!

Implantation usually happens between 8 to 10 days after ovulation if the egg was fertilized. So IF you were pregnant it could possibly be to early to tell by ultrasound. But, since your Mirena is still in perfect place the chances of you being or becoming pregnant are very, VERY slim.

Yes, cramping is normal. I used to have horrible cramping before i started birthcontrol. I would have cysts on my overies and it was very very painful. Ihave had a cyst pass through the tube before and that is NOT fun at all. IT hurts. But if you take advil or something like that it may help. I am glad to hear that the IUD is till in place. biggrin.gif

It is also very common to have pregnancy symptoms when you ovulate! I have never had ovulation pain or anything of that sort until I got my Mirena put it. Now I get sore boobs and all that jazz. I also every now and then take a test for my sanity as well! laugh.gif

I just posted that for another lady! How funny! I told her how my cycles and everything changed since getting on it with the sore boobs and now the painful ovulation...what is that all about?? I was planning on taking it out in April but I think I might be changing my mind...hmmm...

It's the synthetic progesterone in the Mirena that causes pregnancy symptoms. Progesterone, in it's natural state, is one of the hormones that kicks into high gear in early pregnancy - so it's easy to see why it also makes some women feel pregnant when it's used as BC.
