my sister got pito the v smile system like two yrs ago. i hooked it up for him and he never was really into it. well before Christmas he kept looking at the box and stuff. now he comes home from school and he hooks it up and he plays. at 1st all he did was turn it on and off, then he would try to play games but now he is playing games and understanding it. it just warms my heart to see him do it on his own. and he is talking more when he wants to play he ask it by name v smile.
he also has the leapfrog tag pen and loves that do i showed him how to work it and he pulls out a book and points away. he is talking a bit more all the time i'm just soooooooo happy

i had to share.

Thats Great!! Its always good to hear more talking in our cases lol. Jr and Veroniqua both love their Nintendo DS's (Brad got the one with a broken lid when we got the girls each a new one for christmas). I am floored when I hear veroniqua reading what the ds says todo and she does it. My son has a letter toy that talks sings spells ect.. I hid the thing because I was tired of hearing the letter A.
I am glad he is doing well!

That's awesome!
We got Gus Vsmile for Christmas last year but he got too frustrated with it so we took it back. This year we got him Leapster and he likes it a lot - it does frustrate him at times but he is getting better - and it is portable so I like that.
Anything that prompts them to talk to you is a good thing!

Hey, that's great! I think those interactive toys can be very helpful!
Freddy has a Leap Frog Clickstart, but it's at my IL's. So he only gets to play as a special treat. But he likes it a lot.
I agree that Dora and stuff can really help. Freddy loves watching PBS. His talking improved a bunch just from those shows!
But anyways, glad that he's much more into it now.
