Do you ever get a break? Can you leave your ASD child with a sitter?

I rarely get a break. The only people I trust to watch Jay is family and 1 close friend.

Actually, at the moment Alexander is pretty easy to handle. TV can usually even calm a meltdown. But the only one I trust with my kidlets is MIL. She loves them so much and spoils them the way a grandma should. Also, she also had 2 very close together so she is not so overwhelmed by how difficult it is. And she is very interested in learning more about Autism, and has even asked to sit in on a therapy so she can learn more. We have let her, and this past week, we even left her for the last hour of his therapy because we had to get a move on to where we were going. We are very lucky to have her and so close by at that.

We have a few people only who will watch Kai.
One is a clsoe friend of ours... but only for a few hours here and there.. never overnight
and both nanas will take him.. although my mom is a bit more picky on the number of hours or times she will take him.. and most of the time she perfers to take him alone and not with my other two kids.. so it is not much of a break.. *L*

My MIL and my mother watch the kids while I go to work. That's really the only break I ever get. But sometimes we have my co-worker's daughter come to sit while we go out for dinner or something. She's so nervous to be around the baby though, so she hasn't come sat in months.
