Hey ladies! I had my Cesarean on the 21st of Jan. The first weekend and a half were good and then I noticed my incision was starting to open up and drain a little. It has progressively gotten worse. I went to the doctor and he said it was infected slightly and I had mild cellulitis( sp??) He put me on oral antibiotics and also has given me three rochephin (sp) shots. Today he drained it with a large needle . He said he thinks it is looking better but will see me again in a week. My questions are- 1- has this happened to any of you? 2- Does it sound like he is taking the right course of treatment? and 3- how long before I feel normal and my tummy doesn't hurt? Any advice would be great. Thanks so much!

I'm orry you got an infection hun sad.gif I've never had any experience with an infection in my incision. It sounds as though your doctor i taking every precaution though. Once the infection is gone and you can resume your usual healing you hould be feeling normal again in a week or two wink.gif Take the time you need to heal and rest. It's the best thing for you. Also I recommend visiting the helpful tips sticky for advice on how to make the healing process quicker and more comfortable.

I had my third c-section a day after yours. I have had infections pretty much every time, but I've never had drainage. My sister did though, and I think what your doctor is doing is completely normal. Besides the oral meds, I was also told to clean the area twice/day with peroxide. I have been using a bit of antibiotic ointment on the incision also. Good luck!

(Oh, my incisions usually hurt off and on for several weeks, possibly up to six or more weeks.)
