I am so lost at the moment that I really dont know weather what is happening to me is normal,or if I need to see a doctor.
I took my last BCP on the 24th of July (after being on them for 7 years),I got AF on the 1st of August and expected it again on the 28th-29th.Well,here I am on the 16th of September and still no signs of AF at all sad.gif I cramped for about 3 weeks after stopping BCP and my BB´s hurt alot too,but as of last week all symptoms have gone and now I dont know what to do.I went to see my doctor last week (Tuesday I think..?) and he tested my urine to see if I was PG,but that came back negative so he refused to run any more tests and made me feel totally stupid like I was wasting his time,so now I dont know what to do.
Its been almost 7 weeks since AF now and Im starting to wonder what could be going on.Should my doctor have been more concerned or was he right to just test my urine and send me home telling me to "wait"?
Its so frustrating because I am supposed to be trying for a baby..so waiting around for AF to come is so anoying,I cant conceive unless this never ending cycle ends,so Im frustrated and quite worried at this point sad.gif
Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing when they have stopped taking BCP? I will never use them again..they have screwed up my cycle something horrid and now Im worried I wont be able to get PG again sad.gif

Hang in there! It's very common to experience irregularity after discontinuing a hormonal contraceptive!!! It's a major transition and your body needs time to recover from the effects of the synthetic hormones.
Try to be patient and be extra diligent about getting good nutrition while your body tries to regulate itself. The secondary infertility caused by the pill is not permanent, but recovery can last anywhere from 3 - 18 months.

Many of the symptoms are similiar to pregnancy symptoms too, so don't be alarmed if you keep testing negative but are experiencing pregnancy-like symptoms (sore breasts, moodiness, fatigue, bloating, absence of menses).

Best wishes for a swift return to full fertility!

My AF was screwy for the first 2 months after stopping the patch. I was over a week late the first cycle and about a week late the second cycle. I got pregnant the 3 cycle but unfortunatly had a m/c.

Hang in there!! Keep bding like crazy, maybe you are going to O late this cycle. Like Shawna said, it takes your body awhile to regulate after stopping b/c.

Good luck and plenty of baby dust!!

I'm not trying to discourage you, I just wanted to say that it took us a year after BC to get Ben and it took my twin 2 years each to get each of her kids after BC. Since you've been taking it so long, you'll just have to give your body time to regulate. Have you tried using the POAS ovualation predictor kits? We used those while trying to get Ben. It was around $50/mo because my cycles were so screwy, but we finally got him. wub.gif
