Okay so far these are the two pills I am looing to get at my doc's appointment Wednesday.

I heard Yazmin might help you retain less water which would promote weight loss and not gain

Ortho tri lo seems to have good reviews as well.

I am just not interetsed in gaining weight. sad.gif

Any reviews?

Stay away from Ortho tri lo. It has a bad reputation for women getting preggo while taking it perfectly.

You have to be careful with Yazmin and get a blood test 4 weeks after taking it cause it can raise your potassium levels like it did mine when i tried it.

I was on Ortho TriCyclen Lo for 2 years and I loved it!! It's wonderful and what I will go back on after I finish breastfeeding (after the baby is born, of course tongue.gif).

It never caused me to gain weight. Any weight gain was from my bad eating habits... lol.

i was on yasmin for about 6 years until we decided to ttc, and i did wonderfully on it. after i had lost my insurance i tried ortho lo and i had horrid mood swings and side effects. i would so promote yasmin over ortho lo anytime.

Never tried Yazmin, but I tried Ortho Tri Lo for one cycle and hated it. I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding, and the nurse told me that happens a lot so she knew quite a few people who had quit taking it. Also it doesn't work as well as the older pills to actually block ovulation, so there's a greater risk of early miscarriages rather than actual prevention in the first place.

I quit the pill altogether a couple of months ago and switched to NFP with condoms for a backup plan. Hopefully a side effect of going off will be that I can lose weight more easily biggrin.gif

I usually don't post on this board (actually never) but saw this post and had to respond. I used Yasmin & it made me VERY moody/emotional. It was terrible - it hasn't only happened to me but a few other friends of mine that have used Yasmin. One actually had her DF cancel the engagment she was beeing so mean/moody/emotional after starting Yasmin. I would definitley NOT use Yasmin.

I got pregnant with my son on the Ortho-Tri lo, i'm on yasmin now and it has been pretty good. i agree that you(well at least i) seem to retain less water since i've taken it.
