How much bleeding is normal? I just had my paragard IUD inserted about 3 hours ago and I'm bleeding like I have a heavy period. I had the IUD inserted on day 7, so I was done with my period for about 4 days already. Plus, the strings are right near the opening of my vagina, and I'm not sure any of this is normal. It's not in my information sheet, and I can't find the info on the paragard website. I was also dizzy and nauseous, but that is starting to go away. I'm just a little nervous about the bleeding and how the strings feel.
Does anyone know if this is normal? My cramping is getting to be less, but I also took vicatin I had from an eye injury, so that might be why.

I spotted for about 3-4 days after I had my IUD inserted. It's normal to have spotting/bleeding after it gets put in. Also, my strings are always coiled at the top right next to my cervix. Did your dr say rather he/she cut the strings short or left them long?? My dr left mine long so that they don't accidently go into past my cervix.

I had the mirena IUD for 4 months. I was not on my period when it got put in. I bled heavy for a week, I spotted for over a month straight then off and on after that, and the strings were right at the opening of my vagina.
I was told feeling dizzy the same day it gets inserted is normal.
I felt dizzy the whole time though. I had horrible cramps that almost made me cry, migraines, and back pain
I got the IUD out cause i was in so much pain. That was almost a month ago and I feel so much better now.

I have had my IUD in since Aug 18th. I just now have stopped spotting. My strings are up high, doc cut them for me. I am starting to have migraines, but that is a normal thing for me. The cramping for me was for about a day. I haven't had a/f yet.

Is heavy bleeding and cramping on day 3 normal? Yesterday I was spotting but today I am bleeding like I have my period. I have a sharp pain in one side, and have since the insertion. I went to a check yesterday, and she cut my strings back, and said the IUD is still in where it should be. And that although I'm uncomfortable, that might be normal for me. I hope this doesn't mean this is how my body is reacting, and I'm going to be bleeding for a long time. I thought because the paragard has no hormones it would be easier on my body.
