I've been fooling around with PSP a little this afternoon (trying to learn to use it). I figured out the lasso and the depth of view (lassoing, sharpening, inverting, blurring) and a couple other little things. I spent like 30 minutes on a photo I just took outside of all the ice/snow we just got, but I can't seem to save any of the edits that I do. I click "save", and it seems like it's saving, but then when I go to exit PSP it says something about select the following files that you want to save the changes of, but it won't let me do it. Then I end up having all these .tmp files in the folder (that the original photo is in) that I can't open. What the heck?

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm really frustrated!!!

Try doing a save as and saving them as .pspimage files or .psp files. If you save them as .jpeg files it will flatten the image -- in other words, it will put a white background on what you've just cut out. When you've completed the siggy it's at that point that you want to save it as a .jpeg.
