I'm not sure when to expect my AF. I had my IUD inserted on november 29th, before that I was on nuvaring, and my last AF was 11/22. I had spotting and bleeding the whole time I had the IUD in, including lots of pain and pressure, it swear I could feel the IUD in my uterus. I started bleeding heavier than I had been on december 12th, and by the 15th figured that must be a real AF, even though it meant I only had a 21-22 day cycle, but that's actually pretty normal for me. I had the IUD removed on 12/21, and haven't spotted or bled since the day it was taken out. But I don't know when to expect AF, since I'm not sure if what I had on 12/12 was a real AF or not. I am pretty sure it was, but I was bleeding the whole time, it was just a lot heavier then and went back to spotting 2 days before the IUD was removed.
Now it is 1/7, and no AF yet, although I'm getting some common pre-AF symptoms, like cramps, and that puts me at around cycle day 26. That's a pretty long cycle for me, but I've been taking dong quai, since I took that after my miscarriages because it's supposed to help regulate the cycle. After I went off bc last time I didn't ovulate for 3 months, and had 20-24 day cycles.
I think I have given more than enough information at this point, lol, but I wanted to know for those of you who have had an IUD and then had it removed, how quickly did your body get back to normal? And did your cycles change? I'd be really happy if I went back to having 28-30 day cycles, since having AF every 20-24 days is not fun!
