I was wondering if anyone else was having or had this problem with the Mirena IUD...Every couple days, its always random, I will get horrid cramps and then have a good amount of blood come out, and the cramping and bleeding will only last at most 5 hours then stop and go away till another day. Is this normal? I've had my IUD for almost 4 months now so I'm pretty sure that its not from being new.

I did. I had the merina IUD for 4 months then got it taken out. I was having horrible cramps, head aches, back aches, and I felt like I could feel the IUD in my uterus. I got it taken out on Nov. 9th. I could feel a difference the next day, but I feel completely better now. My doctor said it was not normal to feel like this.

I have had my Mirena IUD for a little over 2 months now, and experienced what you described for about a month or so. I had a lot of pain for the first month and 7 weeks of bleeding, but I now I just have little bouts of pain.

I only had my paraguard IUD for 3 weeks before I had it taken out. I bled non-stop, and had cramps and sharp pain that ran down my left leg. I also felt like if I moved a certain way, I could feel the IUD. But I think the worst of the problems was the constant pressure on my cervix, it reminded me of the pressure I felt when I was pregnant. As soon as it was removed, I stopped bleeding, literally within hours of it being taken out, and all the pain went away. I hated it!

Call your dr if your having problems. I have the Paragard and I've not had any problems since I got it put in.

Your dr will be able to tell you if it's normal or not. Check out the helpful websites sticky for info from the manuracturer.

Yes, I get awful cramps sometime with very little bleeding. I'm getting it taken out today tho and cross my fingers I don't get pregnant for awhile...
