How did you decide what bc you were going to use??

I decided on the IUD because I knew that DH wouldn't be TTC but I didn't want to get my tubes tied. We're not 100% sure that we are finished having kids and I didn't want to make a "final" decision until we knew for sure. I also wanted something that I didn't have to worry about taking every day or changing every week. It was also the cheapest form of bc overall for us.

Can't use anything can interferes with life after conception for religious/moral reason - so the pill, patch, shot, and IUD were out. Needed something highly effective, so barriers were out because the failure rate is too high. NFP it was! No health risks to worry about, and after paying about $50 to learn it, there are no ongoing costs for the rest of my reproductive life. We'll use it until menopause.

Hmmm...

Decided on condoms because they were cheap...

Decided on the pill because my doctor told me it was okay...

Decided on a natural method because of disappointment in the previous choices...

(waiting right now til after baby #2 is born though!)

I have used so many. I just chose one and when it effected me badly I would switcg. I never found one that worked good with mt body, so I am now doing NFP

I decided on the mini pill because I have high blood pressure. My choices were depo, mini pill or and Iud. I chose mini pill.

I like the pill. I was on the pill for over 3 years previously and never had any problems with it. Even though I'm pretty regular without it, I enjoy knowing exactly when AF will come. Plus it helps with my cramps and shortens my AF down to 3-4 days.

it was either the pill or depo again and there was no way i was going on that thing again.. i gained like a gazillion pounds on the depo so i went with the pill.. the iud was too scary looking for me specially with my sex life being real active, i couldnt imagine a "string" hanging. blush.gif

I was on the pill for 3 months before TTC our daughter. We conceived right a way. For over a year after her birth I used the Minipill. In Dec. I decided I couldn't stand the side effects, increased appetite, decreased sex drive etc. So we've been using condoms everytime. I recently got Taking Charge of Your fertility. I think it's a must read for every woman. We'll definitely be sticking with FAM and condoms. My body felt like it wasn't doing what it's naturally supposed to do, and I don't like that feeling.

I was on the pill but it made my sex drive go down hill. Right now we're using condoms and I'm happy with it.

I went on the pill because at the time everyone said that was the right thing to do.....that was ok
I went on the ring because it was highly reccomeneded...but I ended up hating it
Now I am confused and trying to decide what to do, and I have no idea what I'll end up using, but I am really considering NFP

I was on Depo, but it really started screwing with my body, and I've been bleeding for the past three weeks, so I'm getting on the Pill.

Ditto.

Got pregnant with DD while on birth control pills. I'm the lucky 3%.
Can't breastfeed with nuvaring.
Didn't want the depo-shot. It's not recommended as long term BC anyway.
Condoms and the other barrier methods don't allow for spontaneity.

Right now I'm on the Pill..
Been on the patch before, and hated it.
Considered IUD, but it scared the heck out of me..

I like the pill because If i'm going on vacation and AF is coming, I can just open another pack and not get AF.. thats the reason I choose the pill, and I like known when AF is coming

I was on the pill for about two years up until this last December when I went off it for ttc reasons. I really like the pill because I can stop it when I want to, and I haven't noticed really any side effects. It can be hard for some people because you have to remember to take the pill everyday, but it worked for me.

I had used the pill (5 years) with many side effects and NFP now smile.gif
