Ok you'll have to download the eye candy plugin that Ann posted in her tutorial to do this.
I have included a lot of screen shots. For those of you that know how to do most of this already just skip over the easy steps, lol, but I wanted to keep it really simple for newbies.
Ok, step one.
Create a new document. Select your text. I used Arial and set it at a size of 200 with a stroke of 3. Write out your text. Then duplicate the layer.
Then rasterize the bottom layer.
Go back to the top layer of text and get rid of your stroke on this layer.
Ok, then still on the top layer go to Selections>select from vector object. (This is the easy way to select the text.)
With the layer still selected rasterize the layer like you did with the bottom layer.
Next, we will want to go to the eye candy plugin.
Pick your top layer of text and then to the glass plugin from eye candy.
Once you get to the glass plugin you want to select the "Clear Glass" option.
Then go to Bevel Profile and pick subtle button
That will get you pretty close, but you are going to want to drag the middle handle down a little to make it more beveled. It should look something like this.
If you click the add button you can save this setting for future use. Just name it whatever you want.
Once you have done that click okay.
Now to make it look transparent.
You will want to merge your original stroked text layer and your new beveled glass layer together by clicking merge visible on your layers.
Add a slight drop shadow to this layer. I use the settings below.
Then make a background layer filled with white so you can see things better.
Find your cutout picture and copy it to the file. Put this picture in the back of your glass and drop shadow.
Then go to your glass text layer and adjust it to hard light. This should give it a nice transparent look.
(You don't have to do this step, but it makes a nicer look.) To finish things off, duplicate your cutout image and move it to the front. So you have one image in the front and one in the back. Then erase the top picture so the glass shows through.
And that's it.
