I just got a mirena put in yesterday. I thought the strings were supposed to be up by my cervix, but today i can feel them outside my vagina. Is that where it is supposed to be? They aren't very long, but i can still feel them outside and see it with a mirror.

No, they should be up by your cervix. I have had a Mirena since July, and my husband can only feel them a tiny bit during sex. You should call your doctor to check the positioning,

It depends on how long the dr left the strings. Mine actually came out once but I know that my strings are really long. I've had mine for about a year now and they are coiled up at the top of my cervix.

I agree with Kate, I would call just to make sure that it's where it's supposed to be.

thanks. i went to the doc just to make sure and my strings were just a little long. she cut them a little shorter.
