Full Version: Unpublished side effects of the Mirena

I came across this website and found it interesting since they disclose that they got the side effects from the Mirena pamphlet. Funny I dont ever remember seeing them listed ! Turns out on the bottom of the prescribing pamphlet under side effects it says :
"This is not a complete list of possible side effects. For more information, ask your health care provider."

How can we do that if dr's are telling us Mirena doesnt cause anything ????

Interestingly enough here's something else. This is information another gal put together from another board I am on.

Here's the PHYSICIANS information on the Mirena which apparently they aren't reading or the would see on page 6 all the listed side effects.

Ironically these are NOT listed on the PATIENT handout. I wonder why ??

Also, here is an indepth report from Berlex on the Mirena. IT's 46 pages and lists side effects, and also the fact that not all women absorb the hormone at the "daily rate" of 20 micrograms. It varies from 10-40 micrograms. Side effects are on page 9-10 and the absorption info in on page 33.
