Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas, 65, opens up about being a dad a little later in life.
He tells AARP magazine that he is a better father now because he's gotten his priorities straight at his more mature age: "My career was the most important thing in my life, followed by marriage and children ... and it’s completely reversed now."
Douglas, married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, has two children with the actress, 9-year-old Dylan and 6-year-old Carys Zeta. He also has a 31-year-old son, Cameron, from a previous relationship.
One of the drawbacks to being an older dad -- the dreaded teen years! "I’ll wince when I think I’ll be close to 75 when my daughter is 16, Douglas explains. “I’m not going to be able to physically chase the boys away!"
For her part, Catherine says her hubby is a "terrific, extremely hands-on father."
Douglas reveals that he is especially enjoying this precious time with the kids. "You’ve got these few years of unequivocal love when Mom and Dad can do no wrong. So we’re a tight family unit.” Read more here.
