Valentine Appetizer - Pitas and Hummus

This Valentine appetizer is not just cute it's healthy too! Your kids will enjoy helping with this Valentine party appetizer.

To make this easy appetizer all you need is some pita shells, pink food coloring, and some hummus. If you want to make this more fun you can also use a heart shaped cookie cutter and aluminum foil to make the hummus serving dish or you can use your favorite valentine themed serving dish.

Cut the pita shells into hearts, Xs or Os with a pair of clean scissors. Set them aside.

To make the hummus all you have to do is add pink food coloring and stir.

For the heart shaped aluminum foil serving dish, you need a heart shaped cookie cutter. These are very inexpensive and can be used for more than one Valentine project. Wrap the foil around the heart and trim the excess. Then carefully remove the aluminum foil from the cookie cutter and firmly press around the edges. Place the heart on your serving dish before filling it with hummus.

That's it! A very easy dish your kids can make for Valentine's day.
