I agree about getting away from Google!

It is true that a transverse baby is more likely to have a cord prolapse, but at the same time it's not *as* dangerous a prolapse as if the baby is presenting with a head or butt. If the baby is presenting with a body part in the pelvis and a cord prolapse occurs they put pressure on their own cord. That is extremely dangerous. If the baby is transverse and the cord prolapses it is not as bad a situation since their body is in a position so as not to put pressure on the cord like that.

Cameron was transverse until 38 weeks. He turned on his own. My friend had an attempted version (her son was butt first) but it didn't work and she said it was painful. A version working (or turning on their own) is much more likely with a transverse baby since they have less of a distance to go.

As for worrying about your water breaking, that actually only happens in a relatively small percentage of women before labor begins. Did your water break before labor or early on with your daughter?
