5 years ago today, I graduated from high school

My dad was sick (had been since I was in 7 grade) with a lung disease called Alpha 1 Antitripson Deficency (I have no idea if I spelled that right) and was currently waiting for a lung transplant. The day of my graduation was a VERY rewarding day for my dad. Not only was it his 50th birthday, it was the day he watched his BABIES graduate from high school. It was important to him because when my sis and I were in 5th grade, the doctor told my dad "Tom, if you don't stop smoking, you WON'T watch your girls graduate from high school!" That day, he quit smoking. It was his goal to watch us walk down that graduation aisle. He was VERY sick that day but, putting his pride aside, got in his wheelchair and sat in our gym and watched us - proud as ever of us! I will never forget the look on his face when I passed him after getting my dipolma...He passed away only 4 short months later (complications with the transplant) but I will always remember today as such a special special day. He would have been 55 today

Happy Birthday Daddy
