When Ava sleeps... she will sleep through ANYTHING. Vaccum, phone, cats tearing up the house, me banging around in the kitchen, my LOUD cousin and I talking for 8 hours, the TV- she sleeps through it all. Im trying to get her days and nights right- so during the day I dont make concessions on the noise level. I go about my day like I normally would and make whatever noise is normal. Nighttime is quiet time though- and ironically- she wont sleep then. Hum... maybe I should make noise at night? LOL! I think its totally normal. In fact, if you read "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and look into his methods- he recommends loud noise. I have his soothing CD and it has a hair dryer on it, and a bunch of other loud repettitive noisees like vaccums and things like that. He says the womb is loud for them, about the noise level of a running vaccum- so it actually helps them relax and sleep. HTH!
