So I had my 18 week appointment today. The appointment, once I got in, went pretty good. My doctor was backed up over and hour and a half so I guess she must have had to deliver a LO today. I'm in a rush because I have to get to the airport for my flight tonight but the lady who showed up at 3:40 for her 3:30 appointment thought her business was more important so I had to wait an extra 15 minutes...grrr.
Doc said everything was going okay. My BP was a little high but they didn't give me time to really sit down after walking in the room which can elevate it. There was some sugar in my urine but that was also attributed to the sweet tea I had been drinking for lunch....I'm a bad girl. I've gained back 3 of the 7 lbs I lost at the last appointment.
Doc said uterus height was good and she was sitting where I thought she was. Claire was a good girl and let her little heartbeat be heard at about 150 bpm.
Now onto the bad news....we scheduled our u/s for the end of the month. I had to call the insurance company to confirm that they covered it and I came to find out they only cover 1 per pregnancy. I had mine back in March so I don't get another one. I'm really sad that we won't get to see her in a few weeks and I still want it confirmed that she is a girl
We're going to have a 3d u/s done at the end of August but I want to have a medical professional and my doctor review the u/s so we know that she's developed correctly and doesn't have any health problems we need to be aware of.
Sorry for the vent part. I should be glad that my little girl is still doing okay and that I got to hear her today!!
