I did not try g-diapers because my BFF tried them and clogged her toilet over and over again. Since her house (and plumbing) is a good 20 years younger than mine, I was not willing to try it. So make sure you have good plumbing before trying.
But more importantly, they are full of the same gel stuff that is in disposables. They are not going to limit the chemicals on your DS's skin much.
If you don't want to go with regular cloth diapers, have you tried 7th Generation (still have the gel, but chlorine free) or Tushies (which ARE gel free, as well as chlorine, dye, perfume free).
