Well... This story could take forever to tell.. but I will try and keep it short and sweet...
I went into L&D on June 30th because I was having real bad contractions... I stayed there forever... and I dialated from 1 to 2.5 cm. But then the contractions just stopped... boo! However, they were still there just not nearly as strong or close together. So then I went to the doctor for my 37 week appointment on July 1st. I was having some contractions and was in pretty bad pain that morning... but not real close together. They said that I did not change much from the night before... Dr. ended up stripping my membranes and sent me on my way.
I was having some contractions throughout the day and they were hurting but still about 10-15 minutes apart. So Guy and I took a walk and had some dinner. Then I bounced on my ball!
Then we took the dogs for a walk. And then we ended up DTD. I was having contractions throughout all of this... but did not time them... since I had just been in L&D the night before... I really did not think much. Around 9pm they picked up and continued to get stronger and stronger until finally at 12:30 am we decided it was time to go in.
We got there and they monitored me... contractions were coming regularly, and were very strong. After three hours- they decided to admit me! Hailey was coming!! I continued from about 4-7 with contractions. At 7 am the dr. told me that they were going to break my water and start me on pitocin because things were not progressing very well, and I had been through several days of early labor. I ended up getting the epi at 9 am. Which the epi was awful... it numbed half my body, but not where it was needed. It was no good!!!! So around 10 am they broke my water, started pitocin, and things began! I went to 5.5 cm by 2 pm. However then from 2-5 nothing changed!!! GRRR!!! So they increased pitocin! The nurse checked me at 5:45 and I was 7.5 cm. Then dr. came in and checked me at about 6 pm and I was 9.5 cm. He said it was almost time! So he got everything ready... and after 25 minutes of pushing... my angel was here.
It was awful though because the cord was around her neck... and she wasnt really breathing so they had to quickly call in the nicu nurses... it took 40 minutes to get her stable. All the while I was worrying about my baby... I would not stop bleeding! The dr was getting real nervous and so was I... it was scary!! But finally I got to hold Hailey.... and from that moment my life will never be the same.

Guy did amazing coaching me. He held my legs back, and encouraged me all along the way. I got to see Hailey's head coming and that just gave me the determination I needed to get her out and in my arms. Guy even looked... he cried so hard. Tears ran down his face, and mine too.
It was a painful, horrendous, and scary experience... but worth it all. Hailey is my little bear... and she is finally here!! We love her sooooo much... And now... our journey begins.
