I'm still driving my manual transmission car. I do have ouchie moments, where I turn and get a pinch in my belly muscles; but it's not from shifting it's from turning and checking out blind spots or general getting in and out and getting situated. You'd get that in any car, so I wouldn't worry to much about driving a manual transmission. Unless you've been put on bedrest or moderated activity, I don't think it's too much more strenuous than driving any other car. But by all means ask, I'd like to know too. I've never thought to ask my Perinatologist.
