Hello everyone! My name is Angie I am the host of the Survivors of Abuse board. It was previously the Controlling and Abusing Relationships board. Due to a lot of confusion surrounding that name, and whether or not people felt they belonged, we decided a name change was in order.
If you are struggling with any form of abuse in your life, or have in the past and want to share stories, or vent about old hurts, then you are welcome on the board. Do not feel that you are not welcome because your experience with abuse is not as severe as someone else's. Abuse comes in many forms: Domestic violence, rape, incest, controlling relationships, verbal abuse, childhood abuse, work related harassment, etc.
Many women have dealt with, or are dealing with varying forms of abuse in their lives. It is a constant struggle for many. Often women have no place to turn to, and no one to talk to. It is my opinion that there are probably more women on JM who are not even aware of the boards existence, but could use the help, and listen ear of other women who have been or are in similar situations.
If you are unsure still if it is a place for you, feel free to PM me and we can talk.
Thank you claire1979 for my cute new siggy!
