The only advice I can think to give you is when you get to where you're going next, contact a homebirth midwife and ask them. Each state and each midwife is going to be different in what they feel capable or are allowed to handle... also not every pregnancy, nor delivery are the same. Just because you experienced that with your last delivery does not necessarily mean it will happen with future deliveries. If your midwife knows you had a bad tear last time, there are things she can do to help your body prevent (or lessen) it next time.
