I had this too when I was vomiting hard. It turned out to be tiny capillaries in my throat bursting due to the hard wretching I was doing. And it could very well be from bleeding gums. If it's just a small amount I'd wait, but the next time you see your doctor, let him/her know. However, if it's a large amount, then you should see your doctor.
