I think it depends on the family member for us to be honest.
My dads name is Christopher & although Im not keen on any boy or girl 'Chris' names Id use them to honour him.
We do have a rule that we both have to atleast like the name before were use it though, whether its a family name or not - though that rule only came in after Logans birth! Lol.
One of Logans middle names is Gerald & I havent even met this person who he's named after, its DF's uncle, although the middle name was meant to be Joseph DF's family kicked up such fuss the day he was born we used it as I wasnt in a position to argue, we never use it though.
