Beth, we've been registered for quite sometime on a few sites but no, we're not running out and buying anything.
My baby brother had a daughter 3 1/2 years ago and she had a LOT of clothes that were either worn once or twice or not at all (some still with tags) so we got her hand-me-downs. Really, the only thing we're lacking is a travel system and a crib.
Between the hand-me-downs and a British grandmother that loves to knit away, we're totally covered on clothes and toys.
We bought our first bag of diapers today to start stocking up.
